Rhode Island Disaster Recovery Centers to Close for Presidents Day

Disaster Recovery Centers in Johnston and Cumberland for those affected by the severe weather between Sept. 10-13, 2023 will be closed Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 for the Presidents Day holiday.  

Also, beginning this Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, Saturday hours will now be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The DRCs will reopen the day after Presidents Day on Tues. Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. 

All centers are accessible to people with disabilities and access and functional needs and are equipped with assistive technology equipment. If you need a reasonable accommodation or sign language interpreter, please let someone at the DRC know.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday- CLOSED.

DRCs offer residents the opportunity to speak with disaster assistance specialists in person. But residents don’t have to visit a DRC for assistance. Other ways of applying and following up with questions include:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov. If you already have an account, you can log in to update your status or upload your documents.
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362. If you use a relay service such as Video Relay Service, captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA your number for that service when you call. Phone lines operate Sunday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. EST. With language translation services available
