Mike Cameron serves as Principal Deputy Chief Counsel, Operations. He first came to FEMA in 2002 as the contracts attorney but departed the following year to lead the Commercial & Administrative Law Division at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In 2007, he became the Director of Policy & Oversight at DHS’ Office of Procurement Operations, before returning to ICE as the Deputy Principal Legal Advisor for Management, a position he held until 2012. Like many others within OCC, Mike returned to FEMA; he created and led the Procurement and Fiscal Law Division until he assumed his present responsibilities in 2016.
Mike retired from the US Army in 2013, after a 32-year career as a reservist. Mike is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and Washington & Lee University. He is married and has one child.
