The job event is for individuals interested in joining the Logistics Cadre of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Logistics Cadre plays a crucial role in delivering essential resources to support disaster operations, including distributing critical commodities and manufactured housing units. The responsibilities include resourcing and distribution of inventory, coordinating delivery of FEMA assets, and strong computer skills.
The position is for reservists, who must be available to deploy on 24-hour notice for a minimum of 275 days per year, with deployments typically lasting 30 to 90+ days. Reservists should understand that availability for deployment does not guarantee deployment, and this role is temporary and intermittent, not a full-time job.
Two positions are needed: Logistics Specialist (LGSP) and Manufactured Housing Specialist (MHSP). The qualifications for each position include skills related to inventory management and logistics for the Logistics Specialist and expertise in manufactured housing setup and inspections for the Manufactured Housing Specialist.
