FEMA’s Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) provides short-term hotel/motel lodging for eligible disaster survivors whose residence is uninhabitable or inaccessible because of a disaster.

FEMA Transportable Temporary Housing Units (TTHUs) are property of the federal government. FEMA has a contract in place for the upkeep and maintenance of all occupied units to ensure they remain livable, safe and secure. FEMA will provide free emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance for TTHUs.

It is crucial that once you are advised that FEMA can place a travel trailer or manufactured housing unit on your property, you immediately contact the electric company to install a second line.

Florida households affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton may be eligible for Temporary Housing Units. Occupants may be eligible to stay in this FEMA provided unit for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration while securing a permanent housing solution. They must, however, abide by the terms and conditions of their Revocable or Temporary Housing Agreement with FEMA.

FEMA Transportable Temporary Housing Units (TTHUs) are designed to be safe and secure temporary housing solutions, but as with all forms of housing, FEMA TTHUs are at risk for damage in severe weather.
