As of Nov. 7, more than 55,000 flood loss claims have been reported to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) from Hurricane Helene. The program has paid approximately $830 million in claim payments to policyholders.

ATLANTA – At the request of the state of Georgia, FEMA extended the time that local governments, houses of worship and other private nonprofit organizations in counties designated for Public Assistance have to submit Requests for Public Assistance (RPA) until Dec. 6, 2024.

ATLANTA -- FEMA opened two additional Disaster Recovery Centers in Bryan and Screven counties to provide one-on-one help for Georgians affected by Hurricane Helene.

At the request of the state of Georgia, homeowners and renters in counties approved for individual assistance due to Hurricane Helene or Tropical Storm Debby now have until Jan. 7, 2025, to apply for FEMA assistance.
