Significant National Weather

West
Cape Blanco, Oregon, west of the Cascades in the Pacific Northwest, could experience winds in excess of 100 mph.  Winds in the Puget Sound and Willamette Valley are not expected to exceed 50 mph.  Torrential rain and rising snow levels will lead to the threat of river flooding in both western Oregon and western Washington, with heavy rain in northwest California.  The mountains of central Idaho, western Montana, and northwest Wyoming will experience heavy snow.  Temperatures will range from the high 30s in much of the Intermountain West to the 70s in Southern California and southwest Arizona.

Midwest
High temperatures will range from the teens in northern Minnesota to the 60s in western Kansas, and 20s and 30s in the lower Great Lakes.

Northeast
New England and northern New York State are expecting heavy snow - with the largest accumulations likely in Maine.  After a wintry mix overnight, eastern Massachusetts may warm up enough to see morning rain and then cool back down for a changeover to wet snow in the afternoon.  High winds are expected from New York to Washington with wind gusts ranging from 45 to 55 mph.  High temperatures will range from the 20s in northern New England and New York State to the 50s in southeast Virginia.

South
There will be isolated showers on Monday in the eastern Carolinas, southeastern Georgia, and central Florida.
Gusty northerly winds will move over much of the South, especially the southern Appalachians where high wind warnings are posted. Peak gusts may hit 65 mph in the higher elevations with possible flurries over the mountains.
High temperatures are expected to range from the upper 30s and low 40s in the Appalachians to the 80s across much of central and south Florida. (NWS, Media Sources)
